Learning about the Horouta waka with Tairawhiti Museum

Ask your child what they learnt today about the Horouta story. We had the fabulous educators from the Tairawhiti Museum come and teach our class about the special story and they even got creative and made some unique artwork

  1. Hi Room 2,
Your sand art and wakas are amazing!
Out of a class vote, what was more likeable; sand art or the wakas?
Love to hear back from you.

  3. Kia ora Room 2! We are Room 25 at Owairaka District School, what an awesome blog you have! We are very excited to get to know you, so we have some questions for you.

How many people are in your class? What is your favorite subject? Do you do garden to table? What year are you in? What is your principles name? What is the first thing that you do in the morning? Do you do PE? How many playgrounds do you have? Do you have classroom jobs/monitors? How many classes do you have in your school? Do you have class values? What is your teachers name? Who is the oldest in your class? Are you a senior or junior? How many hours do you stay at your school?

We hope to hear from you soon!
